Call for Applications: 2024-2025 TCEP Board of Directors

TCEP is accepting applications for several positions on the Board of Directors. Shape the future of emergency medicine in Texas by applying to serve in a crucial role on TCEP's Board. Seize the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of EM in the state by applying today!

Applications are being accepted for the following positions:

  • Two (2) Regular Board positions. Candidates must be Active, Life, or Honorary (former Active) members of TCEP, in good standing throughout the three-year term of office.
  • Young Physician. Candidates must be active TCEP members, under the age of 40, or in the active practice of Emergency Medicine for 10 years of less. One-year term.
  • Resident. Candidates must be in good standing in an accredited Texas Emergency Medicine Residency Program. One-year term.
  • Medical Student. Candidates must be in good standing in an accredited Texas Medical School. In addition, they must be active in their local Emergency Medicine Interest Group. One-year term (non-voting).

In addition, we are looking for individuals interested in serving as Councillors/Alternate Councillors at ACEP's 2024 Council Meeting in September.

  • Councillors/Alternate Councillors are responsible for voicing the concerns of the Texas chapter on the floor of the council meeting and in reference committees. In addition, Councillors can express the will of the Texas chapter by the execution of their votes for or against resolutions and electing the president-elect, Board members and Council officers at the annual meeting. ACEP's 2024 Council Meeting will take place September 27 - 28, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV. To be eligible to serve as a Councillor, you must have served 2 years as an Alt. Councillor. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the individual.

Application Requirements (for board of director positions only):

  1. Completed online application form, submitted by March 10, 2024. Application must include:
    1. Current curriculum vitae (CV); and,
    2. Current headshot (for publication TCEP's EMphasis newsletter.)

Board Responsibilities:

  • Active participation at the TCEP's CONNECT conference (April 19 - 20, 2024)
  • Attendance at quarterly Board of Directors meetings (July; September; January; April)
  • Encouraged attendance at ACEP Council Meeting/Scientific Assembly (September 28-29, 2024 in Las Vegas, NV) and ACEP Leadership and Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC (spring 2025).
  • Travel expenses are not reimbursed.

Important deadlines and dates:

  • March 10, 2024 - Deadline to apply for TCEP Board of Directors.
  • April 20, 2024 - Elections will take place at TCEP's Annual Business Meeting, held in conjunction with CONNECT 2024 in Lake Conroe, TX.
